Kaizen means “continuous improvement” in Japanese. Our mission is to help our students to develop this habit not only on the mat, but in life.
We seek to develop well rounded martial artists that can not only defend themselves in a realistic self defense situation, but have developed unshakable confidence, discipline, focus, as well as compassion.
We train by the creed, “Leave Your Ego At the Door.” Train hard, train safe, no politics, no egos.
The arts we teach and train come from all over the world. We do not believe that one martial art has all the answers. For self defense, competition, for cross training, and artistically, each art has it’s strength or strengths:
- Boxing: punching.
- Muay Thai: punching, kicking, clinching, and use of knees and elbows.
- Judo: takedowns and defending takedowns when someone has a gi or clothing to grab onto.
- Wrestling: takedowns and defending takedowns when someone has no clothing to grab onto, such as at the beach, in MMA, or if you had to defend yourself and their shirt ripped or came off.
- Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu: working on the ground to get superior positions in order to get submissions, strikes, or control over an attacker where they cannot hurt you. This includes training with the gi (uniform), as well as no gi.
